Discovering Tiny Hidden Realms

Pretty Face, Triteleia ixioides

While growing up in the California Sierra Mountains I was enveloped by the natural world. Every day was an exploratory adventure, discovering new insects and tiny magical water creatures. So as an adult, I try to hang on to my childlike adventurous side by doing things that remind me of those lost magical realms. Macro photography is one of those things. I’m amazed and in awe by these microscopic worlds.

Fodder Vetch (Vicia villosa)

Fiddleneck-(Amsinckia Menziesii)

Geranium Molle

The world is full of chaos and distractions, so from time to time, I retreat into these hidden realms as a way to recharge and bring me back to the present moment.

Ookow (Dichelostemma Congestum)

Silver Puffs (Uropappus lindleyi)

Blue-eyed-Grass-(Sisyrinchium-Bellum)

We are surrounded by these tiny enchanted realms, calling each of us to slow down, focus and remember.

Fairy-Lanterns-(Calochortus-albus)

California Tree Frog

Narrow Leaved Miner’s Lettuce (Claytonia Parviflora)

Eternal Bloom Collection

Finally, inspired by these magical hidden worlds, is my soon to be released Eternal Bloom Collection. Here is a sneak peek of a few pieces!
